Finding creative uses for waste.
When I’m making my larger forms with different coloured clay bodies I often end up creating small piles of mixed coloured debris that can’t easily be recycled.
This work is from a series of small vessels that use these remnants to create texture and pattern that can then be burnished smooth by hand. Loosely inspired by Japanese nerikomi techniques and dorodango forms.
